PVC EDGEBAND PRODUCTION PROCESS

  • Production of edgeband is in two ways. First way; station-station production. Each unit is added separately if necessary. It is independent of each other. Second way; multifunctional production. Production system with multi-functional production lines for finished product ready for packaging. This system has all the stations required on a production line.
  • There are Extruder and Calendering Unit, Printing Unit, Primer Unit and Slicing Unit for production. Extruder and Calendering Unit; Extrusion is plasticizing of the PVC formulation with the appropriate extruder. PVC formula in the extruder is plasticized at required temperatures and under high pressure. Calendering is a unit that allows the PVC film to be formed from the plate mold to the desired thickness and to take a precise thickness of the surface of the film.
  • Printing Unit is the process of transferring the patterns with paint and applying UV protective lacquer on the appropriate base color foil which has been drawn to produce a patterned edgeband for a patterned plate. It can be made by using solvent based or UV paints. Usually solvent paints is used for.
  • Primer Unit is applied for the adhesion of the edgeband with the glue used in the sealing machines. The chemical which called primary is applied to the back of the foil with appropriate conditions and amount.
  • Slicing process is the process of cutting that provides the wide foils of different thickness, color, and design in flakeboard. Cutting is done with disc blade system which is set at intermediate distances according to demand.
