PET PREFORM PRODUCTION PROCESS

PET bottle production process consists of the following stages;

  • In the dryer, the moisture of PET raw material is removed.
  • The dehydrated raw material is melted in the furnace by means of rotary screw
  • The molten raw material is injected into the preform mold and preforms are obtained as intermediate products. (The weight and shape of the preform should be designed according to the volume and shape of the bottle.)
  • The PET bottle can be produced by using a two-stage method in which two separate machines are used at different stages (injection molding machine & blow molding machine) or by using a single machine (single stage machines) performing these steps respectively
  • Single stage machines produce the preform firstly and take these preforms to the blowing unit without removing them from the line and obtain the final product which is the bottle or jar.
